We celebrate the efforts of our college’s amateur and budding athletes by providing a platform for them to share what they love about their sport, how they train and their achievements in various competitions during our morning assembly at the My Space My Voice segment.

The OEP is meant to

 

·         build awareness of Olympism

·         promote the Olympic spirit of respect, friendship and excellence

·         encourage youth to embrace and express the Olympic values

·         stimulate interest among youth on Sports and Societal Issues and Challenges

·         be a catalyst for youth involvement in sports

 

The OEP was introduced to the students and staff during the two separate assemblies for both levels in 2009. It was also uploaded into our college’s Learning Management System (LMS) so that they can assess it wherever and whenever they like.

 

In 2010, the OEP add-ons and videos from the Singapore Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (SYOGOC) continued to be shown to all our students.

 

YOG Exposure Day @ JC1 Camp

On the last day of JC1 Camp, the whole JC1 cohort was introduced to six YOG sports that are not offered in our college as a CCA namely Archery, Fencing, Handball, Judo and Taewondo and Wrestling.

Our students really enjoyed their experience with these six ‘exotic’ sports J judging from the photos below:

 

 

Badminton Line Judges

 

·         49 of our TPJC JC1 students will be badminton line judges at the YOG2010

·         They were selected and trained by the Singapore Badminton Association (SBA) SYOG2010 Assistant Tournament Director,  Mr Chew Heng Seng, who is also a PE teacher in our college
